Are there any particular points of caution that I should watch out for when buying a vintage Breitling? Just obtain clear pictures, of the dial, crown, and movement. Post the picture and the experts on this forum can authenticate it. I am thinking of buying a Breitling and have a dilemma between the new Avenger 43 and the new Colt 44. The MSRP is nearly equal, the Colt 44 is listed on the official website at 3620 $ while the Avenger 43 is listed at 3750 $. However, the market price is a little bit different. All Breitling movements are COSC certified whether in-house or not. As for the Omega, I don't like the skeletonized hands, because that hurts readability in low light conditions. Otherwise, great watch with arguably the best movement of the bunch due to its extreme magnetic resistance.

In the early 1990s as I was starting my journey as a watch collector Breitling was a brand that I truly loved. I still remember buying my first Breitling, which was a Colt with a white dial on a brown calf strap. Many upper-tier Breitling chronographs use their own B01, which is considered to be one of the best new chronos in the last 10 years. The cheaper Breitling chronos use an ETA 7750, which is robust and reliable, while Omega uses the in-house 9300/9900 caliber in most of their chronos (also very good).
