I’m looking at purchasing a second Panerai and have decided on the PAM720. My only disappointment is that it comes with plexiglass and not sapphire crystal. I understand that the 720 comes with a spare. Can anyone confirm if this spare is also plexiglass? And is it possible to have a sapphire crystal fitted later? Thanks.

It comes with a spare glass and is in unworn condition (for 5k). Is the plexiglass problematic and/or expensive. Should I steer clear and look for an alternative model - although I love the colour combination of the 372.
With regards to Plexiglass against sapphire crystals, there are pros and cons. For one, plexiglass does not break although it collects scratches over time. But who cares? I don't like modern watches with the plexiglass. I own the 422 and it is similar to the 372 and is only available with the sapphire crystal. I hear my Panerasti friends talking about the warmth of the crystal and the Panerai DNA and I say, "whatever".
